"NBPA Magic"
COMPETITIon team

NBPA has participated in these two theatre competitions:

Musical Theatre Competitions of America: The MTCA Festival is a 3-day national educational theatre festival located in Anaheim, CA!  Ages: 8-19 (must still be in high school or taking a gap year.) MTCA is student-focused and committed to creating unique opportunities for performers to grow and celebrate the art of live theatre with others who share their passion. Each troupe performs a 10-12 minute cut from a Broadway show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. Other group numbers may be added, based on the team's capabilities. Students may also compete in individual categories: vocal performance, duets, dance, monologues and set/make-up designs. Specific ages ranges apply for each individual competition. All individual entries must be approved by an NBPA director.

Junior Theatre Festival: JTF brings together student musical theater troupes from all over the world for a weekend of musical theater mayhem and madness. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a Broadway Junior show for adjudication by a panel of musical theater experts. The weekend also features professional development for teachers, workshops for students and parents, a New Works Showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by Broadway’s best!  Ages: 8-18 (must still be in high school.)

Auditions are REQUIRED for each of the competitions. If you'd like more info on an audition for your child please send an email to sherry@nbperformingarts.com. All team members must be full-time students for the entire semester, Sept-May. No early cancellation is allowed.

Fundraising through NBPA is an option if you are interested in offsetting your event costs.  If you have a fundraiser you would like to propose and organize, please email info@nbperformingarts.com.  With dedication, it is more than possible for each participant to raise enough funds to cover most (if not all) their event fees.
